Although Christmas is officially over, all Christmas decoration in my house is still on, and my mood remains holiday-ry. And it’s the time I am going to reveal what I have gifted to my dear family and friends as Christmas presents this year! Also I hope I can inspire you how I wrap my gift with wrapping papers & other accessories in simple yet creative ways. Looking excited!
A gift for my dad.
I found this at log-on. It’s actually a miniature metallic model (iron-man) which comes in metal pieces that you have to build it up without using any glue (HK$298). Since my dad is in love with models building/ making and even though it seems a bit challenging, I believe he will love this present. I wrapped it with a double-sided wrapping paper (click here), using both sides and tied it with a natural jute with two cute kikki.K Christmas tags.
A gift for my husband.
He used to have a similar thing when we were back in Korea, a portable automated shaver so I always wanted to get him a new and more proper one. This one is from Muji Hong Kong (HK$180) and the good thing about it is you can wash its shaving head part with water. And of course I am in love with it’s simple and sophisticated design (slim and minimal). I then wrapped it with a mono-tree patterned paper and tied it again with the natural jute (going around the gift for 3 times) and again a large tag from kikki.K.
A gift for my friend (for the stealing santa game).
This year we had set a budget ranging from HK$100 to HK$150. To be honest, it was quite difficult for me during the last-minute Christmas shopping. So I went to one of my favourite brands in Causeway Bay and set my eyes on this beautiful colouring book (HK$150). It is rose-gold foiled and the graphics on it are absolutely elegantly drawn. To match the origin of this brand (Sweden) I picked the wrapping paper with a nordic theme of trees and reindeers, then tied it with a very Christmasy red/white paper twine (click here) and a gold-foiled sticker from kikki.K.
A gift for my mom.
This is a present with a set of a shower gel (HK$170) from LUSH Hong Kong and a make-up brush or sponge cleansing soap (5000won) from Olive Young (Seoul). The shower gel is a new product this year, with refreshing grapefruity aroma plus golden glitter (I got the rose jam for myself though) and the sponge cleansing soap is something my mom asked me to get for her earlier. It was quite tricky to wrap bottles as gifts as they can never be totally symmetrical that you can fold in the wrapping paper so I tried to wrap this gift just like a flat-bottomed bag then added a paper bow (from kikki.K) and a label.
I hope this post can kind of give you some guide or inspiration on gift wrapping, not only for Christmas, but for any occasions like birthday, Valentine’s Day, or just to give thanks or surprises to your beloved ones. Think about how happy the recipients will be when they see a beautifully wrapped gift and of course they can always reuse the wrapping paper or tags for something else! bonus :p
